December Newsletter

"Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people."

The Angel in Luke 2:10 bears witness To One Greater, whose presence in our lives results in joy.  We will embrace the Advent season by looking at the witnesses to Jesus, expecting that as we do we will find greater joy!

It is exciting to see the ways God is moving among us as a church body.  Here are a few updates for you:

Our young adults (20-30 somethings) gather on the first Thursday of the month.  They will be at the Craft Pour House on Walker road, December 6th at 7pm. David and Elise Webb will host.  Hope you can join!

Beaverton School District Giving Tree:

We are partnering with Raleigh Hills K-8 to serve families in need this Advent season. This is a great opportunity for us to show love to families as well as support a ministry from our congregation to a local school.  You can bring a gift card to WINCO, Old Navy, Fred Meyer or Target or simply give through the website or app to BSD Giving Tree.  This week, December 9th, will be our final Sunday for collecting cards, so that families have enough time to use them for Christmas.  You can drop them off in the giving boxes at the communion tables or at the community table in the lobby.  Thank you for partnering in this way!

Christmas Eve & Family Breakfast:

We are excited for our first Advent together as a congregation.  This year our December 23rd gathering will be our version of a Christmas Eve service.  Bring friends and family as we consider the witness of Mary to true Treasure.  That said, we will not gather on the 24th, but invite you to join us either in Tigard in the evening of the 23rd for a special gathering or in Hillsboro on the 24th at 4 or 5:30

We will also celebrate the end of the year together on December 30th with a church family breakfast at Beaverton High School.  Rather than having our normal set up and gathering, we will meet at 10AM to tell stories about what God has done around the table, prayerfully look forward to the year ahead and enjoy an abundance of pancakes!  It will be a great time together!

Serving on Sundays is a great way to begin to know others and participate as a part of the body of Christ.  If you are able to help our team set up for our gathering, help with hospitality or serve our kids there are plenty of ways to be a part of the family in practical ways.  Let us know you are interested by following the link here.

Grateful for you all as I pray for you, for the presence of the Spirit among us and for God's kingdom unveiling in Beaverton.
