October Newsletter

"And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness." Acts 4:31

That continues to be our prayer as a new congregation at the heart of Beaverton: that God would shake and fill us to be a non anxious people, confident to bear witness to what He's revealed in Jesus.

It's been nearly a month since we launched and it has been such a gift to see so many of you jumping in to help and be a part of the work as well as getting to know one another and begin to build new friendships.

Here are some exciting things for you to know that will continue to help us grow as a community:

Serving Families in Need

Through the work of Urban Gleaners we are able to partner tomorrow, Friday, September 28th from 2-3:30 with BHS in distributing food to families in need within our own community.  Please email me if you are interested in helping tomorrow or once a month on the fourth Friday.

Colossae Kids

Many of you heard Kari share last week about the incredible opportunity we have to make a difference with our kids (who make up a third of our congregation right now!).  We have a great team working upstairs, but to sustain the ministry to our kids we need to double our volunteers by people taking on a Sunday a month to teach, assist, or help with check in. This way so we can continue to love our kids well and help families engage in worship downstairs.  You can help by reaching out to Kelsey Kim.

We Have An App!

You can get the Colossae App in the App Store and select our congregation once you download it.  You can access messages, find a community, fill out our serve form, give financially, find out about future events, and so much more.  We are committed to reserving push notifications for rare occasions such as closure for inclement weather or a service time change.  We hope this will make involvement and communication simple for you.

Lunch at BG's Food Cartel:

It's great celebrating Christ together each Sunday, but often times with our reality of being a mobile congregation we can easily miss the chance to hang out after our gathering by simply rushing to put things away.  So next week - October 7th come hang out at BG's Food Cartel a few blocks from BHS at 12:15.  You can bring a lunch or buy one and find some Colossae folks to connect with and enjoy after our gathering.

Be encouraged this week - God is unveiling His kingdom in the midst of the darkness of our world through His Body, the local church.  We get to participate in that reality as we live as witnesses to Jesus.  Can't wait to see you Sunday.

Blessings,
Matt
