Why Community?

Being created in the image of a relational God, it is our belief that life is best lived in community. We are built for connection & thrive in relationship. Because of this we choose to follow Jesus in community.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How Do I join?

Check out the map and start by connecting with the the community that meets closest to you. You can also reach out to Dakota Bartlum at dakota@colossaechurch.org. He’ll be happy to help you with the process.

Do I have to Join a community in my neighborhood?

No, you do not. However, we would encourage you to start with community group closest to you geographically. Gathering together with people in your area fosters diversity within the group as well as a strong connection to your neighborhood.

I have kids, can I bring them?

Yes - we love children! We feel that it is important to provide a space where they are well cared for. To that end, not every community group is able to safely facilitate kiddos because of space and childcare issues. Take a look at each community description on the website to see which community would be a good fit.

Is it okay to try a few different communities?

Of course. We strive to create an environment where people are free to experience the different expressions of community. It is understood that finding a community group can be a process and welcome the visitation of multiple groups.

I don’t see a group that fits my schedule, what should I do?

Don’t worry. We are always looking to begin new community groups and can provide the latest updates for possible communities as well as other avenues to community that are not yet on the map. Contact Dakota Bartlum at dakota@colossaechurch.org for more information on this.
